Sample Itinerary for Eastern France

Take a look below at our sample itinerary of a tour and let's plan the perfect trip for you!

Day 1-4

Nestle in to a 16th century hilltop property that offers views of Lyon's Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourviere as well as views of the entire Lower City. Down below, you have Lyon sprawled out and our local expert guide will escort you around every stunning corner of this city. Lyon is renowned for being the gastronomic capital of France, which is truly saying something! We invite you to join a walking tour of some if its most delectable restaurants. Or maybe you'd like to get a more hands-on experience and enjoy a French cooking class while in town! Take your time wandering along the two rivers that hug Lyon's old Town, the Rhône & the Saône, or channel your inner child at the local zoo at the Parc de la Tête d'Or.

Day 5- 8

Snap on your skis as you transfer to mountainside Chamonix, a ski paradise in the French Alps. Breathe in the crisp mountain air while trying out the slopes and then retire to a chalet with wood furnishings, spa facilities, and a roaring fireplaces to warm up after a long day out in the cold. Go snowshoeing around the foothills of Mont-Blanc, revel in a daytrip to nearby border towns in Italy, or simply take it slow and enjoy a break from your normal routine with friends, fireplaces, and fondue.

Day 9-12

Why not squeeze in an escape into Switzerland while on the Eastern border of France? Stunning Geneva is right over the border and its lake, shared by France, is the perfect spot for a boat outing and a chocolate tour. Or head further south to Grenoble, one of Europe's most important research, technology, and innovation centers. Explore the scientific and technological advancements taking place here, then ascend in "bubbles", circular cable cars that will take you to La Bastille, an ancient fortification in the mountains that overlooks the city.
