Italy

Italy has only been a unified country since 1861, but its history spans millenia, incorporating the Roman Empire, foreign kingdoms, and the most recent Italian Republic. In the travel world, our collective notions of Italy typically include rolling Tuscan hills, ancient Roman amphitheaters, crisp seaside aperitivos, and, of course, succulent dishes that are unrivaled. That said, we believe that each traveler has their own unique perception of the Italian peninsula and that no two trips, even to the same region and to the same hotel, are the same.

We can guide you through some of Italy's 20 regions, unveiling both the obvious and the hidden beauties that this exquisite country has to offer. Take a look below at some of our favorite regions and cities and let's see what Italy has in store for you!

Sicily is the crossroads of the Mediterranean, a land where rich traditions, bold colors, dazzling waters, and sinfully delicious dishes collide. The largest island in the Mediterranean, Sicily features archeological treasures such as the stunning amphitheater in Taormina and Agrigento's Valley of Temples as well as natural wonders such as the salt flats in Trapani and glittering grottoes in the Aeolian Islands and all along its shores. Taste dessert wines in Marsala,  go sailing with Mount Etna in the distance, or chat with locals in Palermo. Either way, your time in Sicily will be remarkable.
